Benefits of the Society’s Members:

If a regular member of the Society (those who were voters in the last election) dies in the United States, the Executive Committee of the Society shall have power to spend US $ 2,500 (twenty five hundred) from the fund of the Society to transport the dead body to Bangladesh. If the dead body is buried in the Society’s own graveyard, the Executive Committee shall have power to pay out $ 2,000 (two thousands) from its fund. If a minor (under 18 years) child, male or female youth dies and if the deceased is a child of a regular member of the Society, the Executive Committee shall have power to grant a maximum amount of $ 1,200 (twelve hundreds) from the fund of the Society. Prior to the disbursement of the fund the Executive Committee shall have to possess proof through verification of the deceased’s date of birth and date of death and whether he or she is the child of a member of the Society. In the event of death of a person who is not a member of the Society, the Executive Committee shall have authority to collect donations on the humanitarian ground for the deceased. But no financial help shall be paid out from the fund of the Society. This shall also apply to their children. If a regular member becomes disabled or invalid for some reason, the Executive Committee, if necessary, shall grant a relief of maximum US $ 1,000 (one thousand). However, the accounts of such expenditures shall have to be presented in the form of proposals for approval at the next General Meeting of the Executive Committee.

Eligibility Requirements to become a member:

Membership of the Society shall be open to anyone who is 18 years and over on payment of the fixed membership fee
provided he/she was a permanent resident or a descendant of a resident of Beanibazar. The year of birth must be recorded against the name of each member.

Regardless of whether one is a US citizen or a citizen of any other country, anyone with family origin in Beanibazar Upazilla shall be eligible to become a member of the Society on payment of the membership fee if he or she resides in the USA. No outsider of Beanibazar shall become a member of the Society just on the basis of relationship.

Three Categories of Membership:

a) General Member:
Any man or woman from Beanibazar Upazilla living in the United States, aged 18 or over, shall be eligible to become a general member of the Society on payment of US $ 25 (twenty five) for two years, proclaiming allegiance to the Constitution of the Society. The two-year membership is valid from 1st January of the election year through 31st December of the next election year. To be specific, the membership term shall be for two years in keeping with the two-year term of the Executive Committee of the Society.

b) Life Member:
An individual eligible to become a general member shall be considered a life member of the Society upon a lump-sum payment of US $300 (three hundred) for two years and his/her life membership shall be effective from the date of the payment. The spouse of a lifetime member shall be deemed a life member upon one-time lump-sum payment of US $150 (one hundred and fifty) to the fund of the Society.

c) Senior Member:
Any senior man or woman residing in the USA, aged 60 or over, shall be entitled to senior membership for 2 (Two) years on payment of US $ 5 (five) to the fund of the Society. The year of birth shall be entered in the membership register on receipt of the fee.
